Template:Section renamed
Section renamed from "{{{1}}}"
This template is used to maintain links to section using the {{visible anchor}} template, so that links to old versions of the conversation will continue to be navicable after a section is renamed. Appropriate usage is described at Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines § Section headings and at Wikipedia:Refactoring talk pages.
Parameters
[edit]Requires one unnamed parameter: the former title of the thread.

Styles
[edit]There are two styles available to be used. The default uses {{hmbox}} style and would create a box like:
Section renamed from "Former section title"
An alternative is to supply any argument to the parameter {{hatnote=}}. This will produce a hatnote style effect. {{Section renamed|Former section title|hatnote=yes}} produces
This has the benefit of allowing the text to be searchable using most common archive search boxes.
