- Brooklyn Bridegrooms rename as the Brooklyn Grooms and move from Washington Park to Eastern Park.
- Chicago Colts move from West Side Park to South Side Park halfway through the season.
- Cleveland Spiders move from National League Park to League Park
- New York Giants move next door from Polo Grounds II to Polo Grounds III.
- Pittsburgh Alleghenys move from Recreation Park to Exposition Park, and rename to the Pittsburgh Pirates
