Fit in or fuck off

[edit]
  • ... that the phrase "fit in or fuck off" — an organizational paradigm — has conceptually been appropriated to other contexts? Sources organizational paradigm here Other contexts' 1 2 3 4
    • ALT1:... that ... that the phrase "FIFO" — an organizational paradigm — has conceptually been appropriated to other contexts?

Created/expanded by 7&6=thirteen (talk). Self-nominated at 16:26, 14 October 2017 (UTC). 7&6=thirteen () 16:32, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

  • Date, expansion and hook all OK. QPQ done, no close paraphrasing. Sometimes I feel this paradigm is being applied to me elsewhere on the project. Good to go. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 16:52, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
While we're not censored, we also shouldn't be dropping the f-bomb on the main page. ~ Rob13Talk 16:56, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
Fixed Good suggestion. Edited hook to fix. Thanks. 7&6=thirteen () 17:05, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
I will just point out WP:NOTCENSORED and cite precident of us running Fucking Hell and Fuck It, We'll Do It Live on DYK before. Plus its probably more hooky as well to use it in full rather than the acronym. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 20:37, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
I'm good with either door #1 (as I originally proposed it) or door #2 (AlT1 as I modified it). Chacun à son goût. 7&6=thirteen () 20:48, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

User:Penbat should be on this DYK. my error. Please add as a cocreator. Thank you 7&6=thirteen () 22:59, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

I've added Penbat as a co-creator. I support the promoter to go with ALT1, as the usage of "fuck" is highly dependent on the context. "Fuck off" is unnecessary offensive and personal in comparison to "fucking hell" or "fuck it". Alex ShihTalk 01:13, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
  • I beg to differ. ALT1 seems to be unacceptable because it's contrary to WP:EASTEREGG, "Do not use piped links to create "Easter egg" links, that require the reader to open them before understanding what's going on.". FIFO, as an acronym, more commonly means first-in; first-out. Using it in this obfuscatory way would also be contrary to WP:EUPHEMISM. I'm not convinced that this is really a different topic from conformity but if the phrase really has a separate meaning then we should use it fully so that the reader is not taken by surprise. I was simply trying to address concerns expressed above.
Parenthetically, I do not see any mention of abbreviations at Template:Did you know nominations/Uniform Distribution and Accreditation Centre. Maybe it is elsewhere.
But I defer to the reviewers.7&6=thirteen () 19:37, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
This seems to have been derailed? Are we GTG? Another tick might clarify? If not, do we need another hook? Thanks. 7&6=thirteen () 22:41, 18 November 2017 (UTC)
Based on WP:ERRORS discussion it seems like there are concerns about synthesis and unsourced content with the current article status. Pinging @Staszek Lem and Cwmhiraeth:. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 20:16, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
per ping: The article sucks, but not unfixable. I guess, WP:TDYK does not have good rules against WP:SYNTH. Wikipedians need to discuss whether such safeguards are necessary here. Staszek Lem (talk) 20:19, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
So we are clear, there was a month and a half lapse from the article's approval and its appearance on the main page. It is a moving target. You are also wrong in your analysis and conclusions. And this page at this time is not the appropriate place to raise the issue. 7&6=thirteen () 22:32, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
Apparently this article was pulled off the main page and its And the nomination has been reopened by Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk

Article has been vetted and cleaned. Hook is reliably sourced. Rerun it on a weekend please. 7&6=thirteen () 13:34, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
  • This nomination ran for over 20 hours on the main page before it was pulled. I'm sorry, but it doesn't get a whole additional day when it missed out on a mere three hours and change. (If we were on a twice-a-day schedule, it would only have received 12 hours of display.) I will be closing this again shortly, but wanted to ping both Jo-Jo Eumerus and 7&6=thirteen so they were aware of this before I proceeded. (The close will reinstate the information of the original close, including promoter and time.) BlueMoonset (talk) 23:03, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
Understood. It is ashame as it would no doubt have gotten over 20,000 views if it had been allowed to run its course. 7&6=thirteen () 01:22, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
