Cantata academica
[edit]- ... that Benjamin Britten wrote out the Latin text for Cantata academica in one of his old German exercise books?

- Nice article, but I don't see the hook fact in the source cited (I see it in relation to War Requiem, but not Academica) — Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:18, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- It's on page 4 of Cooke: "Britten wrote out the full text of the cantatawith metrical stresses carefully markedin one of the old exercise books he had retained from his days at preparatory school...[Intervening text refers to the serialist structure of Academica as discussed in previous paragraph]...He subsequently used the same exercise book when planning the textual structure of the War Requiem". - Thanks, got it. New enough, long enough, interesting hook, cited, referencing is good, no images to check, no close paraphrasing found. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 03:08, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
