Usage

An easy and optional method to make standardized inline text from AllMusic for album review sections. Always substitute this template. All fields are required and are only made up of plain text:

1. the rating assigned by editors of AllMusic to an album, for instance "four"
2. the total number of stars that can be assigned, for instance "five"
3. the name of the reviewer of the album, for instance "Stephen Thomas Erlewine"

To use this example elaborated above, insert:

{{subst:AMG text|four|five|Stephen Thomas Erlewine}}

to get the following text:

Editors at AllMusic rated this album four out of five stars, with critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine writing

Note that per MOS:NUMNOTES, either the style "4 out of 5 stars" or "four out of five stars" is acceptable. The second field should only ever have "5" or "five" as its value.

Known issues and to-do

• There is no way of checking if valid values are in the first and second fields, but this could be done with scripts. The only valid values for the first field should be:
  • 0
  • zero
  • 0.5
  • one-half
  • 1
  • one
  • 1.5
  • one and a half
  • 2
  • two
  • 2.5
  • two and a half
  • 3
  • three
  • 3.5
  • three and a half
  • 4

  • 4.5
