This article reads more like an essay or a school research paper than an encyclopedia article - "Clearly, the existence of whitecapping in America had an impact on the way people of the late 19th and early 20th centuries lived their lives" - What?.Black Lab (talk) 06:42, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
another reader: I see this article as extremely dirty. The White Caps as they call them were klansmen, itinerant haters who would terrorize law-abiding people to drive them from their homes for confiscation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.35.128.235 (talk) 23:54, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think there is a lot of info that could be added to this topic. Particularly, I would concentrate on the "history" section. This piece in particular has a great amount of information of the history of Whitecapping in the south---> Holmes, William F. “Whitecapping: Agrarian Violence in Mississippi, 1902-1906.” The Journal of Southern History, vol. 35, no. 2, 1969, pp. 165–185., www.jstor.org/stable/2205711. There is also a sentence that suggests that the people who engaged in whitecapping wore "disguises", but I do not think there is conclusive evidence on that claim, so check that out. Consider adding more on the connections between southern farmers and whitecapping. New sections could include leaders of the movement (if any exist) or Night Riders or particular locations where this problem was largely present. You might also include any historical examples or how this problem was countered by the state, or if the state ignored it. Overall, I think there is a significant amount of information that could be added to this article, especially when looking at non-electronic sources. Consider editing out sentences like "clearly, the existence of whitecapping in America had an impact on the way people of the late 19th and 20th centuries lived their lives" Kelmalc (talk) 20:58, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
