[edit]This article reads like a campaign biography. Would someone familiar with Gov. Hearnes please inject some reality into it?TysK 07:21, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- I have condensed the discussion of Hearnes time in office to a couple pargraphs, focusing on legislation passed while he was in office and measureable changes in state funding. Hopefully this is an improvement. I have also try to make the information flow more chronologically so that his activities before and after serving as Governor are more clearly defined. Hope this helps. TMS63112 22:40, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- I made the article "flow" a little better and eliminated a little of the unnecessarily elevated language, but the changes are a big improvement. I wonder about the statement that he was the first Missourian to serve in all 3 branches of government, though... isn't is possible there was some sec of state of lt gov or att gen or something who was a local judge and a state legislature member before his time in office in the 160 or so years of Mo. history before Hearnes? I'd like to see a source for that. TysK 05:46, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Add more information about Betty Hearnes -- since the two articles have been combined. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.130.183.66 (talk) 08:46, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Betty Cooper Hearnes-separate article
[edit]Betty Hearnes should have her own article. She had a separate political career by serving in the Missouri House of Representatives in her own right. State legislators are notable. It was unfair to merge the article with that of her husband even though she was also first lady of Missouri. Merging articles are not always the right thing to do especially when the main fact is in front of us. Thank you-RFD (talk) 14:34, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- I agree, you seem to know something about it. Go ahead an create it. Grey Wanderer (talk) 21:43, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- I already did: Betty Cooper Hearnes. Many thanks-RFD (talk) 21:46, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
