WFH → WFH (disambiguation) – WFH should be a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to Telecommuting (or whatever it gets moved to after Talk:Telecommuting#Requested move 3 August 2021). "Work from home" has always been the most common use of this acronym, even pre-COVID. A Google search of "wfh before:2020" turns up nothing but results related to "work from home". When looking at Wikipedia pageviews, we see Telecommuting getting a clear majority. The true discrepancy is a bit more stark than the statistics imply, since Work for hire is very rarely abbreviated WFH. So the only real contender is World Federation of Hemophilia, which gets a tiny fraction of the pageviews. King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 05:25, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- "Working from home" is by a large margin the most currently popular onward link from the dab page WFH (clickstream data for March: 133 clicks for Telecommuting, 13 for World Federation of Hemophilia). However, that doesn't appear to have been the case pre-Covid: the corresponding data for January 2019 is: 12 clicks for Telecommuting, 39 for Work for hire and 88 for the federation. I'm not opposing the proposal: the term WFH has caught on, and I don't expect it would stop being used any time soon. – Uanfala (talk) 13:57, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- Interesting. But I somehow don't believe that the total monthly count is basically unchanged (139 in January 2019 vs. 146 in March 2021). Based on their methodology, do you have a plausible explanation for this? -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 05:43, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- I don't know for sure. But the dab page does appear to have received comparable total views for the two periods [1]: it was relatively high at the start of 2019, then there's a slow downward trend, then it shot up at the start of the pandemic, and since then it's been gradually going down. I'd guess the similar totals is a coincidence: the rise in popularity of one topic has more or less offset the decline of the others. – Uanfala (talk) 11:05, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
