The result of the move request was: Not moved. Additionally, I WP:BOLDly moved Vivo (telecommunications) to Vivo (telecommunications company) for better consistency with WP:NCCORP. (closed by non-admin page mover) OhKayeSierra (talk) 16:02, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
Vivo (technology company) → Vivo (technology) – Title should be simplified and shortened similar to Vivo (telecommunications), which isn't titled Vivo (telecommunications company). Wikipedia should stay consistent with titles. Technology Matters (talk) 06:38, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- oppose per WP:COMMONSENSE. "Vivo" is not a technology, as simple as that. —usernamekiran (talk) 19:29, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose, would cause actual confusion as it is not a type of technology. – Thjarkur (talk) 14:31, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented. |
Hi, I’m Sylvia and I work with vivo. They would like to update company information on the page. Due to my conflict of interest, can Wikipedia editors update this information? I have provided the updates, the reasoning, and the sources below. I am happy to answer any questions and provide clarification if editors have any inquiries about the suggested updates – thank you!
- Key People Update – Currently, the “key people” listed for vivo is incorrect.
Done Duke Gilmore (talk) 03:22, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- vivo brand name – “vivo” should be spelled in all lowercase letters as the trademark indicates.
- Partly done: - It was already mentioned in the lead. I did add the magic word at the top of the page though. I'm looking at the other two requests now, but this was an easy oen to start with. Happy Editing--IAmChaos 04:16, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
Done Did a global replace with "vivo" on the entire page. Duke Gilmore (talk) 03:22, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- Research and Development Centers Update – the information is outdated
- Incorrect information currently on the page: “with research and development centers in Shenzhen, Guangdong, and Nanjing, Jiangsu.”
- Update and source: “vivo has 10 R&D centers in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Nanjing, Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Xi’an, Taipei, Tokyo, and San Diego, which are devoted to the development of state-of-the-art consumer technologies, including 5G, artificial intelligence, industrial design, photography and other up-and-coming technologies.” [6][7]
Partly done Did not include overly promotional part of the sentence. Duke Gilmore (talk) 03:22, 17 December 2022 (UTC)

- Undid the lowercasing of "Vivo" throughout. Reliable English-language secondary sources are what matters, and they use the capital "V". 162 etc. (talk) 16:17, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
Conflict of Interest Request – vivo Additional Company Information Update
[edit]Part of an edit requested by an editor with a conflict of interest has been implemented. |
Hi, I’m Sylvia and I work with vivo. They would like to request the below edits to the vivo page. Due to my conflict of interest, can Wikipedia editors update this information? I have provided the requested updates, the reasoning, and the sources below. I am happy to answer any questions and provide clarification if editors have any inquiries about the suggested updates – thank you!
- Relationship with BBK – vivo is a 100% private enterprise founded by Mr. Shen Wei. Starting from 2011, vivo has been its official brand name. Throughout history, there has been no legal entity known as the "BBK Group", nor has it ever owned vivo or any other brand over the same period.
- Incorrect information currently on the page: BBK is incorrectly listed as the parent company for vivo and a link to the BBK Wikipedia is featured on the external links.
- Information and source: vivo is a 100% private enterprise founded by Mr. Shen Wei.
- “Vivo, on the other hand, told KrASIA via another spokesperson that it originated from BBK Electronics, but started to use the name Vivo for its products in 2011. Vivo is “not a subsidiary of BBK Electronics and it is not connected to Oppo,” said Vivo’s spokesperson.” [1]
- “vivo, on the other hand, was founded by Shen Wei, who was earlier responsible for the BBK Electronics mobile phone business. It made its entry into the world of smartphones with the launch of the vivo V1 Canalys in 2011.” [2]
- Requested Action: Please remove references to BBK on the vivo page.
Done Duke Gilmore (talk) 03:38, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- Updates to global market information
- Outdated information currently on the page: " vivo has expanded to over 100 countries around the world. International expansion began in 2014, when the company entered the Thailand market.”
- Update and source: “vivo has expanded its global market, serving over 400 million users with its mobile products and services, to over 60 countries and regions.” [3]
Done Duke Gilmore (talk) 03:38, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- Update to global market share
- Outdated information currently on the page: " In the first quarter of 2015, Vivo was ranked among the top 10 smartphone makers, achieving a global market share of 2.7%.”
- Update and source: “In 2021, vivo was ranked among the top 5 smartphone makers, achieving a global market share of 8%.” [4]
Done Duke Gilmore (talk) 03:38, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
- Incorrect Information about the year vivo was founded
- Outdated information currently on the page: Many places on the vivo page, there is incorrect information stating that the company was founded in 2009. This includes in the info-box, in the second sentence of the “History” section, and in the external link section with links to “Electronics companies established in 2009” and “Chinese companies established in 2009”
- Information and source: vivo launched its brand and first smartphone in 2011. [5] [6]
- Requested Action: Please update the founding date in the info-box and “History” section to 2011. Additionally, remove the links to “Electronics companies established in 2009” and “Chinese companies established in 2009.”

Mansion?
[edit]The article currently houses a picture with the image caption "Vivo Mansion in Nanjing, Jiangsu". The Commons description for that same file is similar, saying "The mansion of Vivo, a Chinese telecommunications company, in Nanjing, China". Both texts are added by the same user. Is "mansion" really an appropriate term for it, since afaik the building is a research and development center rather than a dwelling house/apartment building? (The company itself is headquartered in Dongguan, Guangdong i.e. not in Jiangsu but another province of China.) –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 15:47, 4 March 2022 (UTC).
- @Tommy Kronkvist – Hello, I’m Sylvia with vivo. This image is not the headquarter of vivo and we could share the accurate image with you to update. Additionally, we are trying to update the page to accurately depict our company. If you have any interest, we would appreciate any assistance you can offer with this project given your interest in vivo. Thanks! COFFEELOVERS2022 (talk) 02:16, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

- Hi, I have reviewed some of the requests here:
- - With regards to employee numbers, I am unable to access the LinkedIn page as I do not have an account. A page run by vivo would not be an ideal source; a third-party source would be preferable.
- - I have added the word multinational to the lede, similar to Apple Inc. Unfortunately, the rest of your suggestion appears to be written somewhat like ad copy. Would be preferable to write in a more neutral tone.
- - I haven't had a chance yet to review all the marketing suggestions but I do believe Tata Group is the IPL title sponsor now. Tow (talk) 04:11, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi {{u|Tow}} - thank you for your feedback on the requested edits – it has been helpful in the effort to update the company page. Here is the response based on your feedback:
- * Number of Employees – Understood. It could still be searched via Google Search with snapchat of linkedin if no account, while you are searching "vivo has 18000 employees". There are limited third-party validated sources that could be used as citations. I hope to identify a better source that can be used in the future.
- * Intro Paragraph – Thank you for updating the intro – I have reworded the request to have a more neutral tone. Please let us know if it is suitable.
- vivo is a Chinese multinational corporation and headquartered in Dongguan, Guangdong; it designs and develops smart devices and intelligent services at its core. - * Marketing – Your information is correct – I confirmed that the contract was terminated in 2022. Below is updated language:
- In 2015, vivo signed an official agreement with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to become the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL). - @COFFEELOVERS2022: I'm trying to help clear the edit request backlog, and came across this page. You can't use LinkedIn as a source for anything, let alone headcount, since it is user generated and therefore considered unreliable. Your best bet is to encourage reporters to include this info in future company coverage. Also, the long listing of specific products in the lead is excessive. You should just say the company makes smartphones and related devices, but put the product names and additional detail in the product section. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 04:35, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi TimTempleton, thank you very much for the response and suggestions! Unfortunately, regarding the employee number, currently we don’t have any other sources; we’ll take your advice into consideration and submit once we’ve got coverage!

Vivo
[edit]vivo international is a popular brand. India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and many other countries have a lot of interest in vivo phones, but the price of vivo phones should be reduced for the sake of the people and should provide better quality cameras in low-cost phones. Because high-priced phones have high-quality bright light cameras, but low-priced phones do not have high-quality cameras. If people can make the camera of Vivo phones more attractive, the company will attract a lot of attention. The battery of Vivo phones is not great. The camera is also excellent, but a low-budget phone should give a little light to the full camera, then it will benefit everyone. If vivo company can do this then great let's move forward. 103.141.60.72 (talk) 02:45, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
