Ust-Orda Buryatia (Russian: Усть-Орды́нский Буря́тский автоно́мный о́круг) is a federal subject of Russia (an autonomous okrug of Irkutsk Oblast).

one federal subject is part of another? Tobias Conradi (Talk) 22:21, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With the exception of Chukotka, all autonomous okrugs are nested. They are, however, also considered independent federal subjects. Welcome to Russia, a land of unexplainable logic :)—Ëzhiki (ërinacëus amurënsis) 04:26, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Flag

[edit]

This page links to Image:Flag_of_Ust-Ord_Buriatia_(Ust-Ord_Buryatia).png with blue background, while Flags of Federal subjects of Russia links to Image:Ust-Orda Buryatia Flag.gif with green background. Anyone know which is correct? AnonMoos 03:39, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to the official website, blue background is correct. The green version seems to be taken from this website, which also contains the "newer" blue version. Looks like the uploader simply grabbed the incorrect version of the flag. Flagspot also refers to different legislative documents; I can look into the originals if you are interested (and if I can find them).—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 14:14, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, the above seems to have settled the question, thanks... AnonMoos 16:30, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Though I do wonder whether the color of the disk should really be bright yellow -- the white triskelion shows up much better against a gold disk (as in the GIF) than against a bright yellow disk (as in the PNG). AnonMoos 16:53, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The official website calls that color "golden". I, unfortunately, do not know enough about the flags to judge which color exactly is best suited for that name. Sorry.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 17:05, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
