name?

[edit]

why, in the first sentence under the heading Mixed Martial Arts, does it refer to Faber as Jeff? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.241.143.189 (talk) 16:27, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed it. --aktsu (t / c) 17:46, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article

[edit]

ATTENTION: On December 15, 2008 at 11:54pm, this page said that Urijah Faber has beaten Mike Tyson, Chuck Lidell And Triple H. Someone was obviously messing with it, because these statements are ridiculous. I didn't catch anything else at first glance, but someone who is more knowledgeable may want to meticulously review this article. I'm not going to pour over it all night.

It seems that whoever first wrote this article used exactly what was on Urijah's official website, bio section. http://www.urijahfaber.com/bio.htm —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ptrliang (talkcontribs) 04:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

blah blah blah. I request it be changed to something like him not beaten up, and/or holding his belts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.169.225.199 (talk) 03:53, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you can find a better image that meets the requirements of Wikipedia's image policies, I'm sure we'd all be happy to have it. Gromlakh (talk) 04:14, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I really think the second picture should be taken down. It's an absolutely terrible picture of him and there seems to be no reason for it. It's not of a particular special moment in his career, just him squinting after a random training session. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.161.127.75 (talk) 14:04, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fighting Style

[edit]

In the fight vs. Farrar, the announcer said Faber was now a mixed martial artists, as opposed to a wrestler. The commentators also pointed out that Faber has been focusing more on striking and submissions in addition to his wrestling background. Should that be changed in his statistics? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.136.156.240 (talk) 06:02, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

June 30 rewrite

[edit]

Did a major rewrite; as said in my edit summary I cleaned up the flow and removed the cleanup tag. I also 'improved' the article by writing a bunch of the fight descrips, checking all the links, and checking most of the facts. Many of the facts in the refs are verified in the TBO ref link, but aside from that, here's where we have a bit of trouble. The above user claims most of the bio info came directly off Urijah's official site, which is a no-no. However, the site is currently being rebuilt and the bio info isn't even there as of today's date. So what I have chosen to do is leave the possibly purloined Urijah.com bio info and ref links in place, in hopes that when Urijah's site gets back up, some member of the Project can rewrite the facts into non-copyright violating facts.

The next problem is the simple fact that most of the people Urijah has beaten simply aren't well known enough to have Wiki stubs, much less articles. I therefore left them unlinked, because I think sixteen redlinks in an article this size is a bit ridiculous. Regardless, for any interested Project members, here is the list of (currently) redlinked names from the article: Andy Kay, Joe Urias, Jay Valencia, George Adkins, Del Hawkins, Rami Boukai, Eben Kaneshiro, David Granados, Hiroyuki Abe, Shawn Bias, Naoya Uematsu, Full Contact Promotions, Enoch Wilson, Bibiano Fernandes, Dominic Cruz, Chance Farrar.
