We have a letter written by my uncle George Todd mailed Sep 23,1943 from New Orleans stating he and his captain were going to Bay City, Michigan to check on the USS Marsh DE 699. Lt. Todd was to be the chief engineer after it was commissioned. He stated it was to be comissioned Dec.25 but see here where it was in Jan. He was on it until the war was over. Any information would be great. Harry Todd
- All I know is what DANFS says. Maybe it was scheduled for 12/25, but somebody thought Christmas Day was needlessly inconvenient so they pushed it back three weeks?
