Internal explosion?
[edit]It strains credulity that an "internal explosion" in this one ship would also destroy 4 other ships. Was it crammed full of TNT? Why is there no article on the "West Loch" explosion? Edison (talk) 04:54, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- Another triumph of planning at Pearl. [1]. Gasoline or a dropped mortar shell started the explosion which took out several closely spaces ships. Nimitz saw no reason to make adjustments in the future in how closely ships loaded with fuel and explosives were docked since it was a "calculated risk." Edison (talk) 05:00, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Wreckage still visible today.
