"USNS" is incorrect
[edit]The ship was assigned to Texas A&M as part of the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System fleet (see pages 4-6). USNS vessels are Navy operated and crewed by either Navy or contract civilian mariners and managed and supported by Navy. The UNOLS fleet is managed by the institutions. The R/V prefix is the one found in literature and almost all sources excluding Wikipedia related to those vessels. The page(s) should be renamed. Further, Gyre was owned by the university after the Navy struck the vessel. 71.178.17.34 (talk) 12:46, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
