Potential sources in need of translation

[edit]

There appear to be many sources for content right here that simply await translation. Please take a look! Active Banana (talk) 03:32, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I removed the following link from the external link session. The site is a commercial site selling music and therefor is likely not permitted under our guides for external links. However if I have misjudged the site and the community feels that the biographical information is sound and that this is an occasion to ignore the rules for the improvement of the encyclopedia, I am willing to hear your reasoning. The link to Musica Baltica can be included. The page is a translation of this page, which is also included to the article references. Talk/♥фĩłдωəß♥\Work 19:00, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why this page (http://www.composers21.com/compdocs/praulinsu.htm) cannot be a reference? Ingii (talk) 17:58, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Because it appears to be WP:SELFPUBlished web page run by Dan Albertson and Ron Hannah two people who would need to meet the standards of "notable experts in the field" for a SELFPUBlished site to be used and there is no indication that the site meets other WP:RS criteria of having an established reputation for fact checking and accuracy, other than their own claim that they are. http://www.composers21.com/ Do you have evidence of the reputation of this site? (frequently quoted in other reliable sources, major awards/recognition from academic institutions ...) Active Banana (talk) 18:18, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
WP:SELFPUBlished seems to be references a person would write about themself - for instance if Uģis Prauliņš would be editor of composers21.com, which is not the case. I really can't see why composers21.com cannot be used as reference? Talk/♥фĩłдωəß♥\Work 06:51, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
