[edit]At least a start, should go through the B article process.Pustelnik (talk) 14:33, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Spelling of name
[edit]Although almost every other source uses "Tryal" (including the geo-name "Tryal Rocks") or "Trial", Henderson uses "Tryall" without any explanation or comment. After changing a few times I'm inclined to go with Tryall as his seems to be the most well researched source by a big margin. -- I@n 05:00, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
'Brooke' seems to be the correct spelling. Lee uses it in the article cited in the references as does the NLA (National Library of Australia in another item cited in the references. Collywolly 04:46, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Final voyage
[edit]I've removed the judgemental comment that Brookes sailed too far east "against the ship's owners explicit instructions"; there's no evidence provided that he did so deliberately, and making an error in the longitude was a common enough problem of the time. His fault was in trying to cover up the error and shift the blame. Anyway, the owners instructions were to follow the southern route rather than the safer northern one, so what happened was hardly in defiance of their orders.
