Explanation

Hello, I just wanted to more thoroughly explain the recent edits to this article.

First, I removed the claim that Toth "named and developed" J.Crew. The reason is because the reference article could not be viewed in its entirety online (it is from 1999, thus archived). but rather only an abstract (the mention of Toth's involvement with J.Crew is in the article, but not the abstract. We have several hard copies on file).

Next, I mentioned Mike Toth's involvement with the "Labels Are For Jars", a non-profit initiative that raised funds for the construction of the Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence, Mass. I believe this is note-worthy as it has gained much national attention over the past five years. In fact, baseball player Sean Casey and (soon to be) Tonight Show host Conan O'Brien are also actively involved, and this is mentioned on their wikipedia pages, respectively.

I had considered mentioning Mike Toth's book, "Fashion Icon: The Power and Influence of Graphic Design", but decided against it, lest it be considered self-promotion. My intention was to use it as an example of Toth's significance in the advertising and design industries.

I hope you find this satisfactory. Thank you very much for the opportunity to amend this page.

I have removed my prod for now, but ideally other sources should be added to establish more notability, especially since this article has been deleted frequently in the past. Passportguy (talk) 11:03, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
