The tables
[edit]@SHNV: The tables are getting wider now... Should we split them up.? Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 01:28, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Maybe the table can be split into 2 parts: Episodes 1 to 10 and Episodes 11 to 20 respectively for the Weekly Overview section due to its increasing overall width.
- I am fine with your suggestion. If you think it needs to be split, please feel free to do so.
- Thank you for asking me though and if you feel you are helping by contributing, its not neccessary to ask me bro and I know you do it for the improvement of the page. SHNV (talk) 12:59, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciate that. Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 00:58, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
Accessibility in question
[edit]Not all screen readers are exactly the same, what works on your device may not work on other reader's devices. Please see MOS:COLOR - ensure that color is not the only method used to communicate important information. Especially, do not use colored text or background unless its status is also indicated using another method, such as an accessible symbol matched to a legend, or footnote labels. Otherwise, blind users or readers accessing Wikipedia through a printout or device without a color screen will not receive that information. Words as the primary means of communication should always be given greater precedence over colors. Isaidnoway (talk) 01:00, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Isaidnoway: Which table you are referring to... Looks like only the pairings table have this problem. Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 01:04, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- Here are some accessible symbols that can be used for legends used in tables. Some examples below from the legend for the pairings table. See how the symbol is placed inside the color box, so the screen reader will not read the color, but it will read "asterik wild card entries" or "hashtag rapid fire winner". And then when the screen reader starts to read the rows in the table, it will read as "Deepa asterik", which tells our users that Deepa was a wild card entry. See example table below as well. And quite frankly, if all the important and relevant information is included in the Episodes table, then there is actually no need for those color coded tables, they might look pretty, but text is always preferred over color coded tables. If our visually impaired readers get frustrated because articles with these types of color coded tables are difficult to navigate and read, then they will just leave the article being disappointed because it is not accessible to them.
