Birth year of Tony Bellamy

[edit]

I am trying to find reliable sources about Tony Bellamy's year of birth. So far I found contradictory claims:

I also remember reading on a site that he was born in 1939... (can't find it anymore though). It seems that most sites mention his age was 69 and/or his birth year was 1940. But these sites are not really trustworthy sources (as they simply copy the information from each other). The one that would be reliable (NAMA) has made a mistake on the website... Who has a good reliable source??? – UsagiM talk to me 15:25, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the meanwhile, I got the answer from Native American Music Awards (NAMA) in an email:

Born as Anthony Avila on September 12, 1946 to parents James and Olga Bellamy, Tony Bellamy died at age 63. He has five siblings. (It was originally reported that Tony was born in 1940 and was 69 years of age, but it was later corrected as 1946 and Bellamy passed at the age of 63. Bellamy's family confirmed that Tony originally used a birth year of 1940 so that he could legally play in the clubs.)

The website of NAMA has also been corrected now[1]. I will change it in the article as well. – UsagiM talk to me 01:04, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name of Bellamy's parents

[edit]

I assume the name of his parents was Avrilla too and not Bellamy, or am I missing something ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eric Schutte (talkcontribs) 18:50, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
