"He learned under the tutulage of Ron Smith and learned to "battle" and hit off the "high tee" in his spare time."

I don't think this adds anything of substance to the article. Perhaps if it was expanded with some more details about what is meant by "learned to battle" and "hit off the high tee"? Or perhaps a source where Mastny is quoted as mentioning the influence of his college manager? I've followed baseball closely all my life and I don't think I've ever heard of the latter expression (i.e. "high tee"). --Sanfranman59 00:11, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The "high tee" is a training tool used by coaches to help players use their hands better at the plate and "stay on top" of pitches. It is also sometimes reffred to as the "frappin" high tee. Ron Smith has the most wins as a manager in Furman Baseball history, and is known by all of his players and loved ones as "Smokey." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.108.208.30 (talk) 16:00, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
