Birth place
[edit]Per longstanding concensus reached at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mixed martial arts, use Sherdog and BoxRec for infobox information, to avoid conflicting information from multiple sources being constantly changed. Nswix (talk) 14:15, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Also, the information in Sherdog is factually correct, as in this interview around time 1:43 Aspinall himself says "I was born in Salford, actually, but I was raised in a place called Atherton". Ticelon (talk) 17:38, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
Alleged Polish ancestry
[edit]There is zero evidence for Tom being half-Polish. The misconception about Aspinall being of Polish descent is based on a mistranslation of a video of him speaking some Polish on his Instagram where he says he "feels Polish" because he is married to a Polish woman and has half Polish kids.
The internet news article being used to claim he is half Polish cites the above instagram video as its' source, in which he never claims his mother is Polish or that he is of Polish ancestry.
His mother has a public Facebook page and is called Tracey, which is a British personal name and not a common given name at all in Poland. The photos on the account date back to long before Tom was a famous figure in the sport, and is therefore very unlikely to be inauthentic. Seelers (talk) 23:31, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
