Unsourced page
[edit]Hello, the only source the article currently has is a book from 1990 (Intifada: Palestine at the Crossroads - Page 10, Jamal Raji Nassar, Roger Heacock - 1990). The problem is that 1990 is pre Oslo Accords - a time when the was not an ounce of autonomy in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and local time was Israel Standard Time and Israel Summer Time. I am therefore removing the source. DGtal (talk) 07:59, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Time in Palestine → Time in the State of Palestine – To match State of Palestine article (Palestine is a disambig page) and in line with previous discussions on February 2016 and March 2018 GreyShark (dibra) 15:23, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. Since the article Palestine (region) specifies that "Today, the region comprises the State of Israel {piped as Israel|State of Israel} and the Palestinian territories in which the State of Palestine was declared", the new title would thus exist alongside Time in Israel, which redirects to Israel Standard Time. Other "Time in..." titles are listed at Category:Standards and measurement stubs and Category:Time zones. Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 05:07, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- I don't know exactly what the PNA/ self declared State decided to use as a summer time but writing "State of Palestine" implies the time is observered in the whole area, but any local you ask will tell you the settlers and army observe the Israeli time, so "time in State of Palestine" is imprecise. Using "Time in Area A and Area B" is precise but nobody will understand what it means. We need a better term. Maybe Palestinian controled areas. DGtal (talk) 19:57, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
- Whether this is moved or not, a sourced statement to this effect in the article would take care of any possible confusion. Dekimasuよ! 17:41, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
- Time in Japan redirects to Japan Standard Time. Perhaps use Palestine Standard Time here? Dekimasuよ! 17:41, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
- Ah, I see there is also daylight savings time involved. If that's not an option, then support move as proposed with clarifications in the main text as necessary. Dekimasuよ! 17:42, 17 April 2018 (UTC)

"Palestine Standard Time"
[edit]The page provides no sources for the term "Palestine Standard Time", and searching for it on the Web results in very few instances, many of them copies of this article. I therefore suggest removing the term from this page (and the few other places it occurs on Wikipedia). -- uriber (talk) 15:09, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
What about Gaza?
[edit]This article only refers to Fatah-controlled areas. Do Gazans still use a different time zone? Avi (talk) 16:20, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
- There seems to be quite some stuff, but apart from the tzdata source code it is hard to find more than just speculation.
