Is "controversy" the appropriate section header? A "controversy" is a situation in which different parties do not agree about the facts. I haven't seen any controversy here, as there doesn't seem to be much disagreement. Better alternatives might be "allegations of misconduct" or "allegations of sexual harassment". I have not seen this in the sources, but for his birthyear the retirement age in the Netherlands would be 66, and the retirement is mandatory, so he must have been retired in any case on 12 May 2022. (Probably suspended just a few days before, and this also would explain why his salary was kept - the university would stopped paying it on 12 May anyway). Just dropped this here because the sources apparently do not understand this aspect, and to watch out for reporting. Ymblanter (talk) 16:36, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The article cites nrc.nl on the suspension, one of nrc.nl's related articles (from the same two journalists) does actually write "Tim de Zeeuw, die vlak voor zijn pensioen staat", i.e. that he is just before his retirement, [1]. Lklundin (talk) 16:47, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Right. The way I understand the source is that his retirement status is not actually commented on, other than the general observation that the suspension coincides more or less with his time of retirement. So in my (limited) understanding the article cannot cite the source to state whether he has actually retired, or if he has retired, then when in this sequence of events this would have happened. What we can add now is smth like "suspended shortly before his retirement" and watch out for more details if sources would provide them. Ymblanter (talk) 17:25, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
