What's all this "in the USA" stuff? Wikipedia is not meant to be weighted towards any specific country. --194.82.45.23 13:33, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For a British band, it was (and probably is) not normal to record and release their debut album in the USA, so that fact is worth being mentioned, in my view. BNutzer 19:55, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Cake

[edit]

This article says that The Cake provided backing vocals. The Cake page in Wikipedia says only that [Eleanor] Barooshian (one of the three members of The Cake) sang on The Soft Machine. My CD leaflet doesn't say anything about it and i can't resolve the conflict. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tosh.brice (talkcontribs) 08:18, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ayers on Guitar

[edit]

the inside cover of the album has 3 short blurbs, one for each of the members. kevin's bit starts off by calling him the "lead guitarist" of the group (https://www.discogs.com/The-Soft-Machine-The-Soft-Machine/master/16766 click "more images"). most of "joy of a toy" sounds more like a guitar than any keyboard could, so is it possible that's what that is? 2607:FCC8:89C1:B500:407A:63ED:557B:644D (talk) 20:51, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
