This is perhaps the most mis-informative article I've ever seen on Wiki.

It totally ignores and misdirects what is detailed in well over 2/3 of Bamford's book, namely the methods, techniques, and issues surrounding NSA installing splitter equipment on every fiber-optic communications nexus on the planet. The satellite spying is 50+ years old and increasingly irrelevant. Back then, long-haul and international communications were implemented using wireless and satellite technology, whereas now it is done using trans-oceanic and terrestrial fibre-optic technology. He also highlights why this fact became an issue of "warrantless wiretapping" due to the locations of the splitter equipment being on US soil. Warrants were never an issue in the wireless/satellite age because the location of the interception was in orbit via satellites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.198.201.33 (talk) 15:23, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
