There

[edit]

Thats should do it for now until some editor decides to groundlessly delete this and redirect this to Shiel's article, where there is nothing on it,again.

Two versions of the book

[edit]

There are two different versions of the text. Apparently the author revised and expanded it in 1929. Some reference to this should be made in the article, and the Project Gutenberg links should be clarified accordingly. --98.212.127.3 (talk) 09:07, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added the details of the three textual versions, with citations to reviews for each, but have never compared the versions to determine which Project Gutenberg used. --Johnsquires (talk) 17:12, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia Section

[edit]

Could you give a reference for the Lovecraft and Long quotes, please? Did they say anything more about it? --98.212.127.3 (talk) 09:07, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lovecraft praised the first half of the novel in Supernatural Horror in Literature and commented further in various letters. I'd guess the Long comment was in a letter, but don't know. --Johnsquires (talk) 17:12, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lest anyone deem this section as WP:TRIVIA, I incorporated the notes into the main article. --Junius49 (talk) 13:26, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
