Prague?

[edit]

Are we sure that Prague is a destination for the Asian addition? Last year the route stayed mostly within Asia, with the Middle east and Australia too. Does this mean that the TARA2 will be more like the american edition. the page for TAR12 says that it is scheduled to film around the same time, it could be an American team. --Irishboi 19:37, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we're quite sure. In addition to that, the producers have announced that they will be traveling further this time around. 121.6.119.33 01:35, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1st hearing-impaired contestant

[edit]

According to this source, Adrian Yap is the first hearing-imparied contestant in the whole TAR's history. Should we put this down on the trivia section (if created)? Aranho 11:14, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can be :) --Aleenf1 11:23, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Premiere date

[edit]

Some anon user just like to add November 22 as premiere date. However AXN didn't make the final confirmation about it. So, whose who make it will as seek as sneaky vandalism. Except with clear references adding to it. --Aleenf1 17:33, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, Astro monthly guide already published the premiere date. --Aleenf1 11:25, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Team from Thailand

[edit]

Could someone with proper account made edit to the general section that Paula from Thailand is also an actress. she had appeared in several movie drama in Thailand. She also a presenter for Canon camera commercials —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.136.79.213 (talk) 10:06, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Greeter on Leg 2

[edit]

I watched that on Leg 2, if I'm not mistaken, the greeter at Paco Park standing beside Allan is former senator Joey Lina. For those who watched the episode, am I right or wrong? - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 15:18, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is him. Eaglestorm 08:29, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Leg 3

[edit]

I see a preview of next episode when teams get a breaking point, they will go to New Zealand, I see one of Thailand team perform a bungee task under the Auckland Harbour Bridge. And one team suddenly hit their car and they question by the police. -- 3 December 2007 (02:24 UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.97.100.227 (talk) 02:25, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You saw that? Or you judging only? I think your know it more from forum, unfortunately, that is violate the verifiability in Wikipedia. --Aleenf1 06:10, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did not see it in forum, I see it during commercial break of AXN shows. -- 4 December 2007 (03:53 UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.97.193.83 (talk) 03:53, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Did the teams tell about "They will go to NZ"? --Aleenf1 06:38, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Route Map Help

[edit]

I've added a route map through Episode 3. If someone could please fix it and put it in Wikipedia Commons, I would greatly appreciate it. I just thought I should get one started. Thanks! UWAFanatic05 02:05, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is something wrong in the map; they didn't go to Taiwan, they went to Hong Kong. It should really be fixed. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 05:57, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I didn't know exactly where Hong Kong was and got mistaken by Taiwan. Thanks for fixing it though! UWAFanatic05 18:35, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Leg 4

[edit]

The next episode that only 8 teams remain and they will go to Rotorua, is still in New Zealand. They will go to Hell's Gate to perform a roadblock to find a clue inside the hot volcanic mud. -- 8 December 2007, 07:37 UTC —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.97.143.183 (talk) 07:37, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a place like a forum to talk about spoiler or your sightings, remember the verifiability, which already prove some false claim in previous leg before. Thank you. --Aleenf1 08:16, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Same goes for all those stuff about going to Prague or something, don't put it anywhere on the article. It would be better if the edits concentrated on what happened during the episode. Eaglestorm (talk) 13:23, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Railway stations

[edit]

Looks like there seems to be some conflicts about whether to include train stations on the article or not. I don't find any problem about adding in that. In fact, readers who are viewing Wikipedia wants more infomations, esp. train stations are it gives the readers the knowledge on how did the teams goes to a particular place. And I support this too. Aranho (talk) 11:49, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

I've fixed the sections and removed the fluff and unsourced original research from the article to bring it inline with the The Amazing Race 12 article. Eventually, we'll be cleaning up the format for all of the articles from past seasons. --Madchester (talk) 20:11, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Something wrong, Note 2 in "Results" section, they not complete the Add Task 1 because over the hours of operation, not in Roadblock. The other is perfect and thanks! --Aleenf1 06:10, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Marc Isn't a Filipino

[edit]

By the way, Marc Nelson isn't a Filipino. Eaglestorm, where did you get your information? If you'd like I can list many many sources stating that he is not Filipino. Nor is he Australian. Please check your information properly. He was born on Valentine's Day, 1976 in Sydney, he has lived in Australia and currently resides in the Philipines but that certainly does not mean that he has a single drop of Filipino or Australian blood. And no he doesn't. So if I migrate to a country it means that I magically get my origin from there? So if I live in Australia, France, Switzerland, China would you deem that I have roots from there? I could be African who has lived in 30+ countries but I would still be African in origin and would not have a single drop of blood from those 30+ countries that I lived in.

It just so happens that the other racers reside in the countries which they originated from which probably led u to deduce that Marc is Australian and Filipino.

Here are some sources, and if you still think you are right, list your sources.

"(His mom has Burmese and English blood, born in Scotland and raised in Burma and Thailand; while his father is of Chinese and Burmese origin but migrated in Australia)." Source 1

"No, I don't have a drop of Filipino blood. But that's okay; it's a common mistake. Everyone thinks I'm part-Filipino and I'm glad. I feel very much at home here. The Philippines is my home now." Source 2

Please, check before accusing others of vandalism and check that your information is valid. Well, if that section about "Pan-Asians" is supposed to mean where they reside in, then I am sorry but it looks like it's not.

Eaglestorm, please do NOT delete my messages for no reason. View my sources please. Aren't we all here for the sole reason of making Wikipedia a better and more reliable Encyclopedia? And information needs sourcing. You were the person who asked me to respond on THIS talk page, not yours, referring from my own talk page.

You asked me to respond here, please don't delete this message again. Mervyn Wang (talk) 03:26, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you to Aleenf1 for clearing this matter. The section on the "pan-asians" wasn't of much important relevance anyway. But of course as an encyclopedia, we should try to get our information to be as accurate and concise as possible. Mervyn Wang (talk) 09:42, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, i should kick out this (about Pan-Asians) because lack of citation. But i didn't do that because i think is worth to add. However, now several controversies appear and should be tackle out to avoid confusion or challenging in the future. --Aleenf1 09:49, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well truthfully it is a simple matter. There isn't much lack of citation. I was only clarifying that one of the contestants, Marc Nelson, is not Filipino-Australian. If you wish to add it back I leave that decision up to you. But if you do decide to put it back, please write the correct information thanks. Marc Nelson in my opinion should be listed as Burmese-British. That is because the meaning of "Pan-Asian" is half caucasian half asian correct? So you can't leave out the British part. As for the Asian part, both of his parents share Burmese origin so you should put that instead of Chinese because he is only 1/4 Chinese. Basically Marc Nelson is 1/2 Burmese, 1/4 British and 1/4 Chinese. You can check my sources above. Marc lived in Australia for most of his life, and now the Philipines but he certainly does NOT have either Filipino or Australian blood. Aleenf1, I think that you should put it, to make it more like TARA1 because non-Asians were listed. And tell me whether you agree with me that Marc should be listed Burmese-British or perhaps Chinese-British if you do decide to add the "Pan-Asian" portion back. Cheers.
Eaglestorm, if you have any objection that Marc is not Burmese-British, feel free to state your reasons why along with sources if possible. Thanks. Mervyn Wang (talk) 13:15, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, i decided not to put in, 3 questions why i object: 1) Where he/she born 2) Dad race 3) Mom race. Many question will surrounding and it is challenging. So, leave out this, the important is, he/she is Asian (even only half), and the race rules state he/she must be Asian, or live in Asia for very long time. So, only totally non-Asian but live long in Asia will only mention. --Aleenf1 06:14, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Without the Pan-Asian part it makes it more like TARA1 anyway.Mervyn Wang (talk) 06:44, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He isn't? *cries* He could be considered a Filipino if he was naturalized. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.97.111.77 (talk) 12:19, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to say, he isn't. Most people think that he is mainly because he had gained popularity ever since migrating to the Philippines. Mervyn Wang (talk) 14:31, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, the main prerequisite is for the racers to be full time residents in Asia. There's no screening for ethnicity. I don't know how all the Pan-Asian information was relevant to the casting. --Madchester (talk) 03:48, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notes

[edit]

Are we going to put the Notes part in soon? Like maybe once the race has finished airing? Mervyn Wang (talk) 06:49, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notes? We already replaced with Production and cast and notes are discourage from the guidelines. --Aleenf1 08:41, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh okay I get it now. Thanks for informing me :) Mervyn Wang (talk) 10:54, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Final Placings in Leg 6

[edit]

On leg 6, Ann & Diane got 4th and Paula & Natasha got 5th. But in the beginning of leg 7, P&N departed in 4th and A&D departed in 5th. The show didn't explain why. Maybe there was a time credit given to P&N for who-knows-what reason. Or Ann & Diane could have received a time penalty for, again, a who-knows-what reason.

So on the chart, should P&N be placed 4th under leg 6 and A&D placed 5th? Or should there be a note added? Arrowhead21 (talk) 01:25, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No way, the show will never mention what is happen for this, and no one will know, it is controversy to add this while no reliable sources to prove. --Aleenf1 04:44, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the Fast Forward?

[edit]

As of Leg 10 for this season, there is no fast forward has been aired. Though, there is still two legs left, isn't too late to air a fast forward and the finale is fast approaching? --unknown1212 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.53.214.9 (talk) 11:45, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is not weird if no Fast Forward this season, as all this from producer ideas. --Aleenf1 12:21, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spoiler

[edit]

I actually wanted to put this spoiler on the main page, but since the source is unverifiable, I decided to put it here instead. According to this source, Adrian and Collin wins the race. How?

Quote: "Speculations that marc and rovilson didn't make it to as the winner but runner up rather and 3rd place were vanessa and pamela..they are now currently participating in local race event here in the philippines in a beach resort together with some filipino celebrities. however, colin and adrian won the amazing race asia 2. [as you can see they're the only team featured in the sonyHD commercial.] note that no other team are featured with same style and storyline of the advertisement."

FYI, the source I've given above is my own blog, whilst I got the spoiler from an anonymous guy who commented to that particular blog post 48th ronin (talk) 04:32, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anyway, blog is not always accepted as one of reliable source, except it was written by authorized person. --Aleenf1 04:56, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That is why I never edited the main article of this ARA2... Let's just wait and see whether my prediction will turn out true on the final leg tomorrow... If it does, give me a treat ok :) Haha, just kidding actually. 48th ronin (talk) 14:50, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The spoilers were right, The Singapore boys were won. -- 03:07, 15 February 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.60.241.163 (talk)

Episode Title

[edit]

Is there really no episode title section for this season?LordBelly06 (talk) 06:24, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the title in Season 1 is only revealed after almost 2 years from season finale, and is come from when AXN rewind the show and put the title in its schedule. So, that is no official reveal about the title in Season 2. --Aleenf1 06:30, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Thank you for answering my queries.LordBelly06 (talk) 06:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Map

[edit]

North & South America should be edited out of the route map, similar to how TAR Australia's map is organized. 174.1.48.24 (talk) 21:01, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I just noticed that China isn't coloured in Shadow2 (talk) 09:20, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to whoever cut out the Americas, looks good! But China still isn't coloured in. Shadow2 (talk) 22:42, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Did Allan Wu misspeak about the mat in Fukuoka not being a "pit stop"?

[edit]

At the end of Episode 5, Allan Wu ad-libs to Diane and Ann "It is not a Pit Stop..." (S02E05 ~47:19), but based on the scripted dialogue surrounding the teams arriving at that mat and the next, I think it is safe to say that he misspoke, and that it was considered by the producers to be a pit stop, but that the racers just didn't get the normal rest period and instead had to immediately keep racing.

When introducing the mat location, Allan states (S02E05 ~34:05-34:09) "The Pyramid at Fukuoka International Congress Center is the 5th Pit Stop of the Race." In the introductory voice-over to episode 6, he says "In Fukuoka, it was a cab race to the pit stop" (S02E06 ~0:57-0:59). When introducing Beomeosa Temple in episode 6, he says "this is the 6th pit stop of the race" (S02E06 ~36:12-15). Based on these scripted references, it seems like the mat at the end of episode 5 was supposed to be considered a pit stop, and that when teams left the mat it was considered the start of the 6th leg? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.167.181.94 (talk) 13:45, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
