[edit]Please don't revert spp. linking in taxoboxes (takes some time to do). I'll add speedy deletion tags to the circular redirects for now. SB Johnny 23:20, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- Why do all the species redirect to this page?SB Johnny 23:21, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- Because all of the information about the species is on this page, and because when somebody clicks on Tetragonia tetragonioides, I want them to be able to find it. I bet making all those redirects took me lot more time than it took you to link to the spp., so I give up. But why did you put back the part about "It will continue to produce greens from May to October?" That can't be true everywhere in the world. Isn't "through the summer" more accurate? And doesn't that fit better in the cultivation section than the description section? And Tetragonia is not a "special" kind of spinach, so it doesn't make sense to compare it to "ordinary" spinach. - Didn't mean to put that part back in, sorry about that. If this article is mostly about that one species, perhaps it could either be moved or used as a basis for the article on T. tetragonoides? SB Johnny 11:13, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- I think it's fine to have all the information merged into the genus article, since it's not so big, but if you want to split it off, then you should be careful that T. tetragonoides is the only cultivated species. Sometimes people use vegetable names for more than one species. Leafeater 17:03, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- I did create a stub for it earlier (in the interests of nixing circular redirects, you see :)), but I'm afraid I wouldn't be qualified to split off an article on a plant I know nothing about. My objection was merely on the structural merits, not the content (I was watching this article for other reasons). Consider my interest piqued: if you're willing to write more about them, I'd like to read it... in fact I'm itching to get some seed so I can grow for a taste test! Article confused species and genus
[edit]This article has confused the species, Tetragonia tetragonoides, with the genus, Tetragonia. The article starts off talking about T.tetragonoides as a single species, but than is supposed to cover the whole genus.
What is needed is a specific article that just covers the Tetragonia genus, and the information that applies to that genus collectively, and then a seperate article that covers T.tetragonoides because it is a food crop grown as a vegetable. Anyway, that's my take. Please give good reason if you don't like the changes which I'm about to undertake. John Moss (talk) 11:16, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
