The problem with this article

[edit]

This article is in a somewhat sorry state, because it covers several subjects in a confused manner:

  1. History of the Jews in Tyachiv (should probably be part of a future sub-article of History of the Jews in Ukraine, or of History of the Jews in Maramureș)
  2. Tetsh (Hasidic dynasty) (not the same article!)
  3. A very brief biography of Meir Greenwald or Mayer Grunwald (several spellings possible), a probably notable rabbi who now lives (?) lived in Toronto and died in 1965, whose title is "the rabbi of Tetsh", hence the name of this article.

I am sure that sourcing for all of these subjects exists (though probably none in English), but I do not have access to any just now. Ideally, this title should be a redirect to Tetsh (Hasidic dynasty), and the other subjects should have separate articles, but the article as it stands is probably not a candidate for deletion.

@Sue Rangell: Considering the changes made to the article (still bad, but no comparison), I would say your "prod" (pun intended) worked. הסרפד (call me Hasirpad) 02:43, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, the article still needs a lot of work, but I think it is out of the woods as far as deletion is concerned. I hope more improvements can be made, because the subject matter is pretty important. --Sue Rangell 04:20, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This page has changed a lot since the January 2013 merge proposal, and not focuses on the town, with additional biographical information on Meir Greenwald. Given this, I'll boldly change the name of this page (to recognize its focus on the town). Perhaps material on Meir Greenwald be subsequently moved to a new page once appropriate citations are found.
