Hang on
[edit]Hi all, I'm pulling up some articles about Telos to post some information about it. Unfortunately at work the Internet connection is acting up which is tying me up a bit. I've dealt with this company and saw a broken link to this article and wanted to create it as Telos has had a growing influence in the government contracting community. If anyone has any notable points to add, please do so! Kageskull (talk) 18:09, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
New information available
[edit]Hi, I am the public relations manager at Telos, and I just wanted to let everyone know the 2008 10-K is now posted at http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/320121/000119312509079680/d10k.htm and contains updated information. MilanFan95 (talk) 15:35, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, there's a lot of great info there to help fill out the article. Kageskull (talk) 17:52, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit]- The information in the reference you have provided is essentially company supplied information, which is acceptable for claims such as employee numbers, services provided, and the year business commenced.
- The above mentioned reference, while being acceptable, is a 68 page document. In order to verify the information in your request, please provide the page numbers in the document where the information may be located. When ready to proceed with this information, kindly open a new edit request here on the talk page.
- In the future, it would be agreeable if the individual representative of this company chosen to make requests were to create their own individual Wikipedia account, and for that person only to use that account to make requests here on the talk page. This account should specify on their account page and on this talk page that they have been paid to make requests on behalf of this company. Further information about this may be found at WP:CONFLICT.
- If you find yourself having questions about anything to do with COI editing, you are encouraged to ask the knowledgeable editors at the Conflict of interest noticeboard who are available to answer any concerns you have. Again, when ready to proceed with page numbers for the above request, kindly open a new edit request here on the talk page. Regards, spintendo 16:17, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
Some proposed changes
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. Your request does not specify which source applies to which portion of the text. If a COI edit request contains a verbatim copy of the requested text, this must include properly formatted references placed at the precise location where a claim is made (See WP:INTEGRITY). "Please add the following sources" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "Please change X to Y with Z as reference". |
The Company and Operations and Infrastructure sections should be updated. Information seems to be pulled from the 2008 10-K, here is the link to the 2017 10-K to use as a valid source. Italicized words represent changes to be made.
Company: Add: 1969. “Telos was founded in 1969, and incorporated in Maryland in 1971.” Subtract: “From 1975 Telos developed and supported ground based, telemetry systems for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Starting in 1976, the company provided software engineering services for the U.S. Army’s tactical fire support systems. In 1994, the company attempted to recapitalize its debt by issuing a series of noes and preferred stock shares, after accumulated losses. A disagreement between former chairman Fred Knoll and John R.C. Porter, the majority shareholder at the time, was settled for $1 million. At the end of 1995 it had 1,658 employees and had headquarters in Herndon, Virginia.”
Operations and Infrastructure: This section seems to be a synopsis of old press releases. Here is a link to current and recent announcements. 198.252.228.3 (talk) 15:58, 23 July 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Your edit request could not be reviewed because it is unclear which references are connected to specific claims in the text of your proposal. When proposing edit requests, it is important to highlight in the text which specific sources are doing the referencing for each claim. The point of an inline citation is to allow the reviewer and readers to check that the material is sourced; that point is lost if the citation is not clearly placed. Note the example below:
INCORRECT
The sun is pretty big, but the moon is not so big. The sun is also quite hot.
In the example above there are two references provided, but the claim statements do not indicate which reference applies where. Your edit request similarly does not specify where the references you have provided are to be placed. These links between material and their source references must be more clearly made, as shown in the next example below:
CORRECT
The sun is pretty big,[1] but the moon is not so big.[2] The sun is also quite hot.[3]
References
In the example above, the link between the provided references and their notes is perfectly clear. Kindly reformulate your edit request so that it aligns more with the second example above, and feel free to submit that edit request at your earliest convenience. [edit]The username which made the request may be in the process of choosing a new personal account to use, in which case I'll wait for that editor to come and associate themselves with this request so that the edit summary can be ascribed to that COI editor, rather than the former username which is now inactive. Note to any subsequent COI editor: When ready to proceed with this request, please change the edit request template's answer parameter to read from ans=yes to ans=no. Thank you! spintendo 04:50, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
New Information
[edit]Hello, I am a Marketing Communications Specialist at Telos and I am being paid to make some changes to the Wikipedia account. My mission is to provide up-to-date and accurate information, not to communicate a biased/promotional message.
I made some fact-based changes to the code, detailed those changes in the "edit summary" box, and provided the appropriate references for that information. I would like to further update the information on the page, in terms of the information under the Company and Operations and Infrastructure sections. The information in those sections is severely outdated, as it is based on the 2008 10-K. The 2017 10-K was released on April 2, 2018 and the link is https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/320121/000032012118000011/form10k.htm Some of the information in those sections seems to be based on old press releases, here is the link to the current Telos press releases. https://www.telos.com/company/news/
If you would prefer someone else updates the information, due to any indication of COI, please have them use this updated documentation.
