Can anyone independently verify that Ted Koppel's real name is Edward James Koppel? The only results Google displays are copies of this article: [1] -- Minesweeper 03:34, 28 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Google has a bunch of reliable sites that identify him as Edward James Koppel.

"just put another comedy show"

I removed the link to Jimmy Kimmel Live from "just put another comedy show" in his closing remarks, as that's not necessarily the show Koppel referred to there. Previously there had been a plan by ABC to pull the Late Show with David Letterman into its late-night line-up, displacing Nightline; Koppel was staunchly opposed to the idea and Letterman did not agree to move, which ultimately led to Kimmel being hired as a post-Nightline comedy show host instead.

i hate to tell you but i dought a professional like ted koppel is going to be looking on wikipedia. or use it as a relible news source. your much better off going to the discovery website,. but trying to get ahold of him is just plain silly here (Esskater11 22:55, 28 April 2007 (UTC))

Reformatting and new info

I reformatted the page by eliminating the "Trivia" section. I didn't delete anything but instead moved information to other sections and created the sub-head, "Influence: References in Pop Culture." I feel the "Trivia" section is out of place on Wikipedia and especially in this article, in which most of the trivia fell nicely into the other sections. Do others agree?

Someone else had already included some info on the close relationship between Koppel and Henry Kissinger, to which I added. I also wrote in some criticism of Koppel, relevant to his relationship with Kissinger, and Koppel's response. Langtry (talk) 18:06, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
