Spoof list

[edit]

Re: edits like this and this that introduce content about "notable spoofs", you folks need to seek consensus for the inclusion of this content, as it is largely interpretive (i.e. requires you to personally identify the spoofs, as opposed to noting ones that the media have noticed) and is a seemingly indiscriminate list better suited for a fan website. I'm also unaware of any comparable list being included in any other "spoof" film, but if someone would like to argue that there is significant precedent, feel free. @Terminator92: Since you have restored a significant portion of this[1][2], what is the academic value of this content besides just a maniacal list best suited for a fansite like Wikia? And what is the precedent for an article containing this much detail about spoofs? How is this content in conformity with WP:NOTINDISCRIMINATE when there is no supplementary information to provide context? Even in films like Hot Shots!, which was very spoof heavy, we don't see indiscriminate lists for each of the spoofs. Same with Scary Movie, where only a few of the main films spoofed are listed. And since the section is "notable spoofs", what is "notable" about these? It sounds like the film just poked fun at everything it could think of, rather than presenting a few spoofs in any sort of meaningful way. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:42, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
