Taft Avenue named in 1984?
[edit]I highly doubt that this road was named Taft Avenue in 1984. I am not sure when it became known as Taft Avenue, but I know it was way before 1984. I was courting my wife in 1974 who lived near Cartimar Market and the road was already called Taft.--Miles2north (talk) 00:04, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
- Taft Avenue was already named as such in the 1930s. Howard the Duck (talk) 22:17, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
Intersections
[edit]You should know how to measure kilometer not adding useless section but you can't measure kilometers. 49.144.76.74 (talk) 09:57, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
Infobox image
[edit]Hello, there has been a disagreement on which image to use for the infobox. Which one is more suitable? A or B. Personally A is more preferable cause it shows the immediate vicinity of the road (the building alongside and the MRT center island) as opposed to B which is an intersection and it doesn't give any context on where the image is if not for the Taft Avenue sign. If we remove that tiny sign, the photo depicts a non-descript image of the road. @Naniwoofg why do you think the second image of "is higher quality". Could you elaborate on that? - @Hariboneagle927, I concur with your insight. A is the better choice among the two; the second image that Naniwoofg prefers may be striking to some but does not fully represent the road. Additionally, the road at the background (50% of the image file) is San Andres Street, not Quirino Avenue. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 09:37, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- I walk by Taft Avenue too when going to and from class. I'll go with A as it's the more recognizable of the two. D-Flo27 (talk) 14:30, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- A per @JWilz12345. 12:50, 20 December 2024 (UTC) Borgenland (talk) 12:50, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- I know the LRT is on top of Taft Avenue, but can we get a photo that shows both carriageways? Overhead photos are preferred as lead photos of streets, so we should be aiming for something like option "A". Howard the Duck (talk) 19:12, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- That would be ideal, yes. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 06:13, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- All of the photos in Commons do not show both carriageways. The best bets here are someone residing in the DLSU condos lol. Howard the Duck (talk) 00:24, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
- I have went to EDSA LRT station, and can confirm that there's no good angle of a photo showing both carriageways. The best photo is the EDSA cor. Taft photo used on this article. Howard the Duck (talk) 22:17, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- That would be ideal, yes. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 06:13, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Naniwoofg: you are told to engage in discussions instead of unilaterally changing images on your own.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 13:11, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- @NaniwoofgAgain this is a collaborative project. You just can't act on your own or at least explain your justification on your image changes through a less vague edit summary. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 07:42, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
