Steam roller incident

[edit]

The previous version of the page which suggested that loco 6T was involved in the Cork and Muskerry steam roller incident in 1927 looks incorrect; possible the source itself was in error. Neither 6T nor any other T&D engines every worked on the C&M. However, C&M No. 6 was transferred to the T&D after that line closed, and this seems the likely source of the erroneous attribution. The GSR practice of not renumbering narrow gauge locos from different lines but sticking a suffix after them does not help. Some T&D engines were transferred to the Cavan and Leitrim section and you could have two engines with the same number but a T or L suffix. Hyperman 42 (talk) 11:55, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
