Wonder Wheels

There was a Susan Davis that played Dooley on the 1977 cartoon series "Wonder Wheels". Was this her?

Addition to budget bill

The following was recently added to the article:

In 2013, Davis added language into the budget bill requiring the Social Security Administration (SSA) to develop a plan to restore the mailing of paper earnings statements. This will increase costs for SSA's operations. [1]

I deleted it, noting that the sourced reference said she was "pressed" to add the language to the bill, but did not say that she actually added it. User:Whazzis restored the paragraph with the edit summary "If Rep Davis did not add the language, who did?"

That was a good question; the source reference did not say who added that language. So I emailed the reporter and asked "Hello! I am a volunteer Wikipedia editor with a question about your article "Group tries to slow federal government’s move away from paper to the Web". My question is: did Rep. Susan Davis actually add language to the budget deal requiring Social Security to develop a plan to resume paper delivery of earnings statements? And did that language become part of the final budget bill? The article says the group "pressed her" to add it, but it doesn't say whether she actually did. Thanks." The reporter replied, "Hi Melanie, sorry for late response; your msg went to Spam! So, Davis claims she did not put the language in, but budget appropriators did. I guess you re safe saying that. I couldn’t figure out exactly who did it..... Good luck!"

I suppose the above is Original Research, but it clarifies that the supplied source does not say she added the language to the budget bill. I could find no other source in a search. So I have deleted it again. Comments? --MelanieN (talk) 18:49, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
