'Preceded by'
[edit]"Atom man vs. Superman" should be added to 'preceded by' because "Superman and the Mole Men" is sequel to serials with Alyn. Alyn didn't appeare in this production because he want too much money for play in this movie. And that's why they also change actress who played Lois Lane. New cast & crew but this is still a SEQUEL. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Szopman (talk • contribs) 13:29, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

- Checking Gary Grossman's 1976 book, Superman: Serial to Cereal, there's no clear indication that there's any special continuity between Mole Men and the serials. It does talk about Kirk Alyn demanding more money, but that was for the second serial, and he got what he wanted. The producer of Mole Men says he did not seriously considered using Kirk Alyn; that he wanted something different. The production company for the film was different from the serial's company. There's an implied continuity among all the Superman characterizations through the years, of course. But I'm not seeing any overt evidence that Mole Men was intended to be specifically a continuation of the serials. It's also worth keeping in mind that the television series that was filmed very soon after Mole Men was wrapped, re-told the origin of Superman, which had also been told in the first serial. And in the second season, they would have continued with Phyllis Coates as Lois, except she was unavailable, so they returned to Noel Neill who had been in the serials. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 16:50, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
