nobody's going to read a list of friggin sultans
[edit]also it looks really crappily written. At least bullet point it, but i think that section should be removed entirely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:BCC4:2230:4CE0:5B94:DD70:6981 (talk) 03:08, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Disestablishment date
[edit]Someone keeps putting 1928. It's not 1928. There is no source anywhere that says its 1928.
The Philippine Revolution in Mindanao - Dialnet (unirioja.es)
Studies in Moro History, Law, and Religion (gutenberg.org)
Kindly read these please
All the information that these sources contain does not say 1928, and contradicts 1928
- American forces arrived in Cotabato by December 1899
- Sultan Mangigin exiled from Cotabato (it even says on this page too and I'm not the one who wrote that there)
- 4 months ago (December 1900) Sultan Mangigin lived in Cotabato, but now he lives in Sibuguey
Sultan Mangigin was also friendly to the Americans
And the fact that he died in 1926 means by 1928 the Sultan of Maguindanao was completely powerless as Sultan Mangigin was the last recognized Sultan by the Americans.
There is no dispute that it was not disestablished in 1928, but rather much earlier than that. For the sake of clarification, let us ignore the claims and focus on de facto. By 1899, the Americans controlled the capital of Maguindanao, and was therefore the sovereigns and overlords of Maguindanao. At the Sultanate of Maguindanao was ruled by a mere warlord, Datu Piang of Bacat.
1899 is a better and more accurate date. 1928 is pure guesswork. I don't understand why someone keeps putting 1928. however if we base on sultan mangigin's death, as he was the last recognized sultan of maguindanao, its 1926. so, if we go towards the neutral approach, it is safe to conclude that the date should be both 1899 and 1926. but it's not 1928.
