Section on "Sub-corpus"

[edit]

There are three categories (+ 2 other listings) for the Amarna letters:

  1. Amarna letters authors (a corpus)
  2. Amarna letters locations (a corpus)
  3. Amarna letters officials (a corpus)
  4. Rib-Hadda letters (large 78 letter sub-corpus)
  5. Various other sub-corora

When I did the initial making of the various articles with letters, I did my best to find the localities referred to. Also, I believe only one official had an article before I started.

Authors were numerous, and I still have not been to every article, to add for example the listed Letters authored by them. Labaya and his son Mutbaal (just re-added?), I had previously listed their letters on their pages.

At any rate, my purpose was that the letters had to be read: Not the entire letter. Many times, I started in the middle or second half, depending on the topic, or how it went with other letters in an article. For short letters, I tried to choose the entire letter, and if there were 4 to 6 by an author, usually 1, or 2 good entire letters could be chosen. (Reading the entire letter, and sampling a number-(to read), and seeing the many references in the letter, one finds how this is one Giant SoapOpera--!).

Of note: The Amarna letters is one of the largest, and best timestamped events of the 2nd millennium BC. And it is a wonderful and complex soap-opera, still being unravelled. (from the SonoranDesert... ArizonaUSA..) Mmcannis (talk) 05:30, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Subartu?

[edit]

I think this article and Subartu should be merged into one article.--FeanorStar7 (talk) 16:21, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
