Practical implementation

[edit]

To my knowledge, this principle is widely used in traction equimpment of trams, e.g. from [1] and [2], both switching in late 2000s from PWM to stochastic modulation. You can hear that in the wild that trams with older Cegelec Europulse produce whistling traction sound with few dominant frequencies while more recent ones produce rustling sound. All this is from persons who designed and built trams so it's pretty trustworthy, I don't have any firm reference however. — Preceding unsigned comment added by David Jaša (talkcontribs) 17:34, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
