Early life

[edit]

For a period in his early career, especially while still based in Texas, he lived with the playwright Beth Henley which brought him into contact with many other professionals connected to the stage, especially that of New York. Might be helpful if someone can track down a reference to this and include it as it gives his career more depth. SteveCoppock (talk) 21:58, May 3, 2008 (UTC)

Mr. Tobolowsky did an AMA on reddit, and it can probably be mined for this article's verification or expansion. — fourthords | =Λ= | 21:09, October 26, 2012 (UTC)

Musical Career?

[edit]

This is stated in the biography for Stevie Ray Vaughan:

  • "In September 1970, Vaughan made his first studio recordings with the band Cast of Thousands, which included future actor Stephen Tobolowsky."

Does this mean that Vaughan and Tobolowsky were in a band together? They are both from Dallas, Texas, but there is no mention of a musical career in Tobolowsky's biography. Mal7798 (talk) 22:07, April 18, 2014 (UTC)

    • No. Tobolowsky was in a band called Cast of Thousands as a student. For a single recording, Vaughn was a session player on one song, but never played or recorded with Tobolowsky's group again. Tobolowsky tells an incredible story about this recording session and its aftermath in his podcast. You can hear it at http://www.musicliferadio.com/2011/05/036-tales-of-tobolowsky/. The actual story starts about 13 minutes in. Monkeyzpop (talk) 17:58, April 21, 2014 (UTC)
