Does this video help? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgijFMEVVIQ?t=15 "snipe" happens when you push a board through a thickness planer, the rollerhead connects with the front of the board and the knives will accidentally making an extra deep cut because of this "shock". Something similar will happen when your board exits the planer, the rollerhead will disconnect and the knives will make an extra deep cut at the end of the board. It is quite annoying but can easily be solved. Hope this helps 81.82.237.218 (talk) 15:19, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
On June 2019, user Dliv11 added a pretty good description of snipe. Later that day, ClueBot NG threw it all away as “possible vandalism”. The next day, user TitanOfOld put it all back, explaining “not vandalism nor spam”. The day after that, user Kingerikthesecond threw it all away again, explaining that Dliv11’s addition “Does not adhere to WP:NPOV.” Meanwhile, the “Fencing” link, which is blatant advertising, remains untouched.
