Talk:Simplistic

The adjective form of simplicity is simple. If I try for simplicity in my writing, it is in the hopes of making it simple, but certainly not simplistic.

I agree that simple should redirect to simplicity. But simplistic is not simply the corresponding adjective for simplicity. It is a misunderstood word that causes confusion. As there is nothing on the simplicity page that discusses the meaning of simplistic, this entry is needed.

Is there some reason you think redirecting it is important, Uncle G?

I removed the redirect and put in a link to wiktionary instead, since simplistic means something very different from simplicity. The fact that they sound similar is confusing to some people as it is. The last thing we want to do is confirm a misconception.
