POV fashion

[edit]

While history agrees that he destroyed many Hindu and Buddhist shrines, and committed violence against Hindus, this entire article is written in an extremely POV fashion. vi5in[talk] 20:54, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. TrangaBellam (talk) 15:18, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, wow, it took nine years for this thread to get a response! Impressed! -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:44, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
the policies were far discriminatory in practice than in theory? A missing word? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:48, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
TrangaBellam, "far discriminatory"? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 17:57, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Removed. Missed something and I am not sure what I intended. TrangaBellam (talk) 12:45, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also an ISBN error for Walter Slaje's book in today's edits. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:35, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But, that is the ISBN. How to turn off? TrangaBellam (talk) 12:45, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I copied a shorter ISBN from Google Books, and it seems happy. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:55, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Martand temple

[edit]

I did not understand why the Martand temple image has been reinstated. It is at present unsourced. Please add a citation. (And let it not be a WP:PRIMARY source.) -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:56, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See Page 34 of [this book]. I do not agree with the photo-caption, though. TrangaBellam (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 17:03, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Bashir Ahmed denies that Martand had been destroyed/razed by Sikandar. But, his one-line evidence/rebut is nonsensical - ...The Martand temple is till this day a protected archaeological site maintained by the ASI and is a tourist attraction too... TrangaBellam (talk) 15:55, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, Bashir Ahmed is no good. I am glad you found a good authoritative source. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:43, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Can you access this book? Has something about a Hindu shrine commissioned during Sikandar's reign but this is not held in any nearby library and costs 160USD! TrangaBellam (talk) 09:18, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, it does not even have snippet views on Google Books. (It is probably one of those "coffee table books", meant to be excludive.) -- Kautilya3 (talk) 09:48, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah.... I need two/three pages; Khalid Ahmed mentions of this and we could have used him. But going by his sloppily vengeful work, I don't even trust him on quoting some source in context. TrangaBellam (talk) 12:29, 5 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Kautilya3, now added: Incidentally, the first stone-sculpture of Kashmir and one of the finest in its history — a four-armed Brahma — has been dated to 1409, during his reign by one son of a Buddhist Sanghapati. TrangaBellam (talk) 16:31, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The dedicatory inscription even carries Sikandar's name. TrangaBellam (talk) 16:32, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
