Hmm. Is there no article for Siegfried the dragon-slayer? I can't find it if there is.

How about Siefried Farnon from 'All creatures great and small' by James Herriot? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.154.6.254 (talk) 18:28, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology

[edit]

I under stand there is a discrepancy with the direct etymology, but it should be more clear that "Sigurðr" is the actual Nordic equivalent to "Siegfried". Even if it is not strictly the same etymologically. There is a huge historical, cultural, and religious connection to the figure of the Dragon-Slayer who bore these names in different languages. The correct, etymologically, Nordic rendition is just going to confuse people. Thanks.73.220.34.167 (talk) 17:16, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like someone made it a lot more clear. Much appreciated. It looks a lot better and less confusing. I would do it myself, but I am not a wiki expert... Thanks again! 73.220.34.167 (talk) 20:00, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
