I don't think "with variations" is necessary in the caption - the fact that they're called "similar" already implies there's some variation between them
I don't see this as a major thing, but I would recommend adding sources for the release dates in the infobox since they're not mentioned anywhere in this article. Presumably Famitsu's database is an easy-to-find source for them.

Lead

If Koudelka considered part of the SH series? If so, For the first game in the series, see Shadow Hearts (video game). should be reworded
Simliarly, consisting of a trilogy of titles for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) and its predecessor Koudelka for the PlayStation. should say "and their predecessor" if we're saying Koudelka is the predecessor of the PS2 games and not of the entire franchise

Setting and characters

Mangaka is jargon in English that we can't expect the average reader to understand - I would rewrite it as "manga creator" and link manga
a time chosen as a turning point between an area of superstition - this should say "a period of...", right?
Shadow Hearts, which takes place during the years 1913 and 1914, - it is clear that they are years. I would rewrite this as "...which takes place in 1913–1914"

Production

Why the quotation marks around horror RPG?
Do we know why Matsuzo Machida was credited as Itakura?
Would recommend writing out IP in full as intellectual property, and probably linking it

I would recommend rewording either paragraph 2 or 3 in the lead, so that you don't start two paragraphs in succession with "The series"

@Alexandra IDV: I've addressed everything you praised, bar two things. First, all I've found is that the "Machida" title is a pseudonym but also the most common name and nothing's been said beyond that. As to the capitalization of Judgement Ring, that's its most common form both in-game (where it's a side quest character of sorts) and in articles describing the series. --ProtoDrake (talk) 09:22, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
