Neandertal-Genes

[edit]

Given that "95 percent of the genes in the mouse genome are found in a similar form in humans. Many of the diseases of mice and humans have the same genetic cause." MPI Leipzig), the small amount of Neandertal genes is close to ridiculous. Or the text is miswritten.2A02:8108:9640:AC3:7D1E:AB72:D10D:71BC (talk) 06:47, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Brown or blue eyes???

[edit]

"The ancient individual from Satsurblia was male with black hair and brown eyes; however, the individual is one of the earliest found to carry the derived HERC2 allele for blue eyes." is logical nonsense.2A02:8108:9640:AC3:7D1E:AB72:D10D:71BC (talk) 06:50, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Light Skin

[edit]

"The Satsurblia individual also likely had light skin, as he was found to carry the derived SLC24A5 allele for light skin." I would say 'lighter' skin. The ancestral expression of skin pigmentation is Black. Today's European population has over 90% coverage of both derived SLC24A5 and SLC45A2, producing the light skin of today. It would be interesting to know what the phenotypic expression of just a derived SLC24A5 allele is. Some background of ANTHROMADNESS Natufians were dark-skinned?, and more here. 83.84.100.133 (talk) 21:33, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
