[edit]The article states that Williston was president of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology beginning in 1904; this is not possible, or else he was president of some SVP other than the one currently in existence. The latter wasn't founded until 1940 ([1]), decades after Williston's death. Diceratops (talk) 05:36, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
For the record, he was born in 1851. The erroneous birth year 1852 crept into some biography after his death, and has been repeated numerous times, but it is wrong. In Fossils and Flies, Elizabeth Shor reports that she definitively checked his birth year by looking at his birth certificate. It was 1851. Peterwshor (talk) 22:18, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
