Medicinal use & Native Americans
[edit]"(Since the tree is not native to America, material supporting this claim is needed)."
i removed this line from the body of the article and replaced it with a [[citation needed]]; it seems more apt to address the issue like that then to have the article directly contradict itself W guice 00:44, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
Hybrids with Crack Willow
[edit]I undid a change by user:ketiltrout about the hybrid with crack willow. Apologies. The problem is that Meikle's willows handbook doesn't mention Salix euxina, which I believe was named by Irena Belyaeva after he died. We need a good reference for this. And there is evidence that Salix alba hybridises with Salix x fragilis, too. See for example: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/289212941_Diversity_of_the_Willow_Complex_Salix_alba_-_S_x_rubens_-_S_fragilis. E Wusk (talk) 07:14, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, fair. That's a good distinction to make. Cheers,—Ketil Trout (<><!) 13:58, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
