Royal Netherlands Football Association → Royal Dutch Football Association — The Dutch name for this organisation is "Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond". If I'm not wrong, "Nederlandse" is Dutch for "Dutch", not "Netherlands". Therefore, this article should be moved to Royal Dutch Football Association. – PeeJay 15:33, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- Support: The title's translation does seem to be off here if online translators are anything to go by. FIFA's website also refers to them as Royal Dutch rather than Royal Netherlands, as does the official World Cup 2018 bid website. Bettia (talk) 21:39, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- Support: The translation is definitely off. Nederlandse is an adjective, meaning dutch. In addition, the fact that FIFA and the KNVB themselves refer to the organistation as "dutch" and not "Netherlands" is good enough reason to move the article. Sir Sputnik (talk) 20:52, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- Support actual usage, never mind translation. —innotata 20:29, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

- Google cache shows that they use "Royal Netherlands Football Association" themselves.
- UEFA uses this too. Can't find official name on FIFA page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.155.212.150 (talk) 08:06, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose: The KNVB itself uses Netherlands. See their English About us page [1]. Google searches limited to site:knvb.nl produce 62 hits for Netherlands and just 4 for Dutch. Likewise, the UEFA list of member associations uses Netherlands.[2], and Google searches limited to uefa.com produce 3,750 hits for Netherlands and just 10 for Dutch. FIFA references are evenly split: Google searches limited to fifa.com produce 48 hits for Netherlands and 47 for Dutch. While "Dutch" is the usual adjective in English for the Netherlands, 'Netherlands' is used adjectively in formal names such as this. The page shoud be renamed back to "Royal Netherlands Football Association" Timothy Cooper (talk) 08:43, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Oldest Association outside of Britain?
[edit]The article says - "It was one of the founding members of FIFA in 1904 and the first non-British football association in Europe" but the page used as a citation actually says the Danish Association was "One of the First". The date for the foundation in this article says 8 December 1889. The Page for the Danish Association just says 1889. But on this UEFA page it says Founded on 18 May 1889. http://www.uefa.org/member-associations/association=den/index.html Clearly the Danish Association is older. I will make the change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.81.244.252 (talk) 21:09, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
