pronunciation

[edit]

as it stands, the pronunciation of his last name appears to drop the "m" in the "Jerusalem" part. Is that really how his name is pronounced? OK, searched, it appears this wiki page is incorrect. This reddit link https://www.reddit.com/r/lua/comments/2raijh/how_do_you_pronounce_ierusalimschy/ indicates some research which included his own description. the rest of my comment is cut-pasted from reddit for posterity:

"Actually my last name is quite difficult for portuguese-speaking people. It is a Russian name, liberally translated from the Cyrillic alphabet by some imigration officer when my grandfather came to Brazil. I pronounce it more or less like this: Ierusalimschy - Ee êh roo zah leems key -- Roberto" http://lua-users.org/lists/lua-l/2003-07/msg00101.html
